Thursday October 24, 2013 “Consider the Ravens”

If God says in Isaiah 1:3 “… My people don’t consider” we must be expected to consider things – especially things that are obvious.  Luke 12:24 “24 Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds?”
Ravens were an unclean bird according to Jewish law.  However, God had a place for them in Noah’s ark of salvation from the Genesis flood waters.  The Lord also placed ravens strategically in the life of Elijah to feed the prophet during a time of drought.
Consider the ravens – no storehouse or barn yet their future is secure.  A man or a woman who has peace concerning their financial future has discovered their worth to God.  They have “gone to the birds” – the ravens and have found the faithfulness of God even to unclean birds.  Considering this fact they have come to the end of themselves and their plans choosing God as their sustainer in life.
Pray today that believer’s in Jesus Christ open their hearts to Him and discover their value in His sight.  And because of that value placed upon us let us pray for an understanding as to the extent of His provision for our needs today and in all of our tomorrows.  Godliness with contentment results in great gain.
