Thursday Nov. 28, 2013 “Power of Thanksgiving”

Throughout our history God has responded many times to man’s decision to proclaim a time of national humiliation before God followed by giving of thanks.
Provision came to the Pilgrims following such a proclamation and during the Civil War the “tide turned” when President Lincoln called for such a day. God changes not in His response to man’s humility before His throne. In 2 Chronicles 20:21 God’s people sang, “Give thanks to the Lord for His love endures forever.”  The Lord fought for Israel against three enemies each greater than themselves and there was a great victory for God’s people.
Today as we gather around the table for our “Feast of Gratitude” perhaps our prayer of thanks can be one of repentance on the behalf of our nation followed by a prayer of gratitude. This can release the blessings of God on our land.  Join us as we experience the power of thanksgiving.
