Sunday December 29, 2013 “Alleluia”

Revelation 19:1-6   After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!” Then a voice came from the throne, saying, “Praise our God, all you His servants and those who fear Him, both small and great!”
And I heard, as it were, the voice of a great multitude, as the sound of many waters and as the sound of mighty thunderings, saying, “Alleluia! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigns!
I know it is hard to believe, but this is the first place that Alleluia is used in the New Testament.  Alleluia means “Praise the Lord” and the word is the same in every language. It is universal.
As we gather on this the final Sunday evening of 2013, let us gather in Spirit around 3 prayer focus points for intercession.  Tonight we will look at some last things and first things as we look at scripture pertaining to the end times.
Focus #1 In v.2 of our text we find God judging “the great harlot”. Pray today that there be the judgment of God that takes the wheels off of the chariots of God’s enemies as in the Red Sea with Egypt.
Focus #2  v.4 The elders in heaven are found worshiping God falling upon their face.  Pray that church leaders become people of worship in “Spirit and in Truth” and lead the way for the saints to experience God’s presence in the new year.
Focus #3  The text from Rev 19 begins and ends with powerful praise unto the Lord Jesus Christ.  Let us pray in agreement that no person or creature in heaven or earth receive glory reserved for God Himself. He alone is worthy and He is able to disable and destroy all of our enemies.
