Monday February 24, 2014 “Make the Best of It”

2Kings 4:2   So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”
What shall I do for you? asked the prophet. Before she can demand an entitlement, the prophet asks, “What do you have?” The widow’s first response was “nothing” then she says, “I have little oil”.  Like the lad who gave his lunch of 5 loaves and 2 fish and Jesus fed a great multitude, this woman found something that could be used to bring a miracle into her situation.
This is an example of “making the best of what you have”.  Many people fail to see their own potential and so they look for entitlements. Please pray that people see the potential of what they already have to use to set themselves free from debt and prepare the future provision as we see in this story.
