Wednesday February 26, 2014 “Neighborly Cooperation”

2Kings 4:3,6    Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. … Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.”
And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased.
The woman acted on her faith – but wait there is more to the miracle.  The sons went out in the neighborhood to gather the pots and the neighbors responded positively, giving them every pot in the house.
The sons of the widow and the deceased husband must have had a good reputation in the community to have the neighbors respond in such a kind way.  The neighbors in their kindness became a part of the miracle.
Pray in agreement today that there be a desire in the hearts of Americans to be good neighbors and that families of faith be known as people who can be trusted (like the boys going door to door).  The neighbors then open their hearts and become a vital part of miracles God desires to bring in the land.
