Thursday April 24, 2014 “The Fear of Man is a Snare”

Nehemiah 6:12-13 “12 I realized that God had not sent him, but that he had prophesied against me because Tobiah and Sanballat had hired him. 13 He had been hired to intimidate me so that I would commit a sin by doing this, and then they would give me a bad name to discredit me.”
The sheepskin had fallen from Shemaiah and others so that Nehemiah could see the wolf clearly. The object of the enemy was to fill Nehemiah with the fear of man and in so doing stop the work of God. The Bible clearly teaches us that “the fear of man is a snare” – a trap. Nehemiah recognized the tactic of his enemies and he chose to not give it place. His eyes were open that there was no validity to the enemy’s accusations and their craftiness revealed they were not of God because they were deceitful.
Pray that the church in America awaken to the fact that many today would like to keep God’s people in the position of being afraid of man’s ideas. Pray that God’s people awaken to the fact that no weapon formed against us shall prosper, even fear tactics. There are many more with us than against us.
