Thursday June 12, 2014 “Not Utterly Consumed”

Nehemiah 9:31 “31 Nevertheless in Your great mercy You did not utterly consume them nor forsake them; For You are God, gracious and merciful.”
Whether actively through divine judgment or passively by withholding blessing God could utterly consume and forsake the people of His choosing.  He was ready to do this in the wilderness journey from Egypt to the Land of Promise but Moses interceded for Israel and God did not destroy His inheritance.
Let us join in intense intercession for our land and our people.  May our prayers include that a godly fear come upon each person that has forgotten or has no knowledge that as the Bible says, “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hand of God.”  Remember the word says that God did not utterly consume Israel but some were consumed.  Pray that mercy will triumph over judgment until there be a turning away from sin and a turning to God in America.
