Sunday July 13, 2014 “All the First-Fruits”

Nehemiah 10:36-37 “36 to bring the firstborn of our sons and our cattle, as it is written in the Law, and the firstborn of our herds and our flocks, to the house of our God, to the priests who minister in the house of our God; 37 to bring the first-fruits of our dough, our offerings, the fruit from all kinds of trees, the new wine and oil, to the priests, to the storerooms of the house of our God; and to bring the tithes of our land to the Levites, for the Levites should receive the tithes in all our farming communities.”
Welcome to our Sunday evening gathering for Prayers of Agreement.  We ask that you pray for at least 15 minutes between 6 and 9pm (all time zones) following the wearethepeople.me Prayer Focus Points and invite someone to join us this week.
Under Nehemiah’s leadership the people of God committed the first of all they possessed to the Lord’s spiritual leaders.
Prayer Focus #1:  The people dedicated their sons to God’s work.  Let us agree in prayer that Christians in America prepare their children to make a difference in the church by modelling commitment and explaining how important that is for our nation’s future.
Prayer Focus #2:  The first born of their herds and cattle were released to God’s use.  This can represent the results of their physical labors.  The blessings shared with the people of God as they open their homes to Bible Studies or Prayer Meetings or use their vehicles to transport people to church and other faith-based activities.
Prayer Focus #3:  The group of people under Nehemiah seemed to have a keen understanding that everything a believer has must be dedicated to God for His use and for His glory in the earth.  Even dough and fruit from their trees were released into the hands of the Lord.  Let us agree tonight that believers recognize that all they have is a gift from God.  And He will use it to disciple the nation (as we are commanded to do in Matthew Chapter 28) if we release all He requires to the storehouse of God.
