Sunday October 26, 2014 “A Downward Path”

2 Chronicles 29:5-6 “and said to them: “Hear me, Levites! Now sanctify yourselves, sanctify the house of the Lord God of your fathers, and carry out the rubbish from the holy place. For our fathers have trespassed and done evil in the eyes of the Lord our God; they have forsaken Him, have turned their faces away from the dwelling place of the Lord, and turned their backs on Him.”
Welcome to the Sunday night edition of “We are the People” prayer for the nation. You love God and America and that is why you have chosen to join us tonight.  As I travel about I meet people everywhere who love America and they are choosing to pray in agreement for the hand of blessing to be upon our land once again.  Why not invite someone to join us in our 15 minute investment of prayer for our country every Sunday evening from 6-9pm (all time zones).
Let us approach the throne of grace with thanksgiving and praise as we petition the king of all kings to move on our behalf to bring revival to America in our day.
Prayer Focus #1: Hezekiah said that the spiritual fathers of Israel had trespassed, done evil and they had forsaken the Lord.  (became unfaithful)  Pray tonight that there be a godly sorrow that comes upon God’s people who have forsaken the Lord and have chosen to follow the paths of unrighteousness and sin.
Prayer Focus #2: The personal choice toward sin and evil led to a turning away from the dwelling place of the Lord (the temple in today’s worship place – church).  Pray this evening that those who began to fall away from God thorough sin who have then turned away from the church will have a desire to return to the house of God.
Prayer Focus #3: The people turned their back on the Lord.  Willful sin turning away from the church then gave way to abandoning faith completely for God’s people.  Tonight let us pray that those among us who have chosen to go down the progressive path of apostasy will hear the voice of the Holy Spirit calling them back to their relationship with Father God who loves them with an everlasting love.
