Thursday November 20, 2014 “Scripture Songs and Revival”

2 Chronicles 29:30 “Moreover King Hezekiah and the leaders commanded the Levites to sing praise to the LORD with the words of David and of Asaph the seer. So they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed their heads and worshiped.”
We have been praying in agreement concerning revival over the past month at “We are the People”.
A major ingredient of revival is praise and worship. It is interesting to note that the King commanded the Levites to sing the Word of God that we find in the Psalms. The result was gladness in the hearts of the Levites who sang.
Years ago during the time of the Charismatic Movement “Scripture Songs” became popular. Many songs were directly from the Word of God and people still remember them today. It is a great way to memorize scripture and singing the Word brings joy that Nehemiah 8:10 tells us is our strength and God’s strength is revealed in revival.
Please pray that God move upon songwriters in our day to pen some new scripture songs that will help us remember the Word of the Lord as we enter fresh times of revival before the coming of our Lord.
