Thursday November 27, 2014 “Sacrificial Thanks”

2 Chronicles 29:34  But the priests were too few, so that they could not skin all the burnt offerings; therefore their brethren the Levites helped them until the work was ended and until the other priests had sanctified themselves, for the Levites were more diligent in sanctifying themselves than the priests.
First let me wish you a “Happy Thanksgiving.”
The Levites helped until the work of sanctification was complete in the lives of the priests. What a sacrificial thing to do. This reminds us of Nehemiah’s day when the Jerusalem walls were being rebuilt. Brother helped brother so each person could finish their part of the work.
Pray today that Christians take on the servant attitude that will allow others, especially leaders to perform their duties without being overburdened. The Early Church in the Book of Acts chapt 6 reveals that they understood this principle and the church flourished.
Thanksgiving began with Native Americans helping the Pilgrims. On this special day of thanks – let us practice generosity in helping others accomplish their dreams and goals, especially spiritual goals that will turn America back to God.
