Sunday December 28, 2014 “Turning Darkness to Light”

Isaiah 58:9&10 “If you take away the yoke from your midst, The pointing of the finger, and speaking wickedness, 10 If you extend your soul to the hungry
And satisfy the afflicted soul, Then your light shall dawn in the darkness,
And your darkness shall be as the noonday.”
Welcome to “We Are The People” Sunday Night edition when we bring our hearts together for intercession from 6-9 pm (all time zones) agreeing in prayer on 3 focus points of faith to bring our nation back to God. We ask that you invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayer during these hours of prayer from coast to coast;
This past week we have been following Isaiah chapter 58 as a guide to personal and national revival. When the church is revived, there will be an awakening in the land.
The Prophet says that God’s people will shine in the darkness and darkness (or gloom in the Hebrew) will melt away as the morning fog that obstructs vision. This will allow us to see the hope and future the Prophet Jeremiah wrote of and is recorded in Jeremiah 29:11.
Prayer Focus #1 “Take away the yoke”. The yoke of men’s ideas that bind men’s souls to sin, unrighteousness and carrying the heavy loads of life. Jesus said in Matthew Chapter 11 to come to Him and drop the heaviness of sin and following our own ways upon Him.
We are in the midst of the Christmas season. A time when we celebrate our Savior’s birth. The reason Jesus Christ came is to save us from sin, the burden of sin and its effects upon man. Some of the effects are misunderstanding, hatred, fears, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness and the like.
Tonight, let us agree in prayer that strongholds of the human ways of dealing with issues of life be broken off the shoulders of Americans and that the spirits that enslave many be rendered powerless through the power of Christ’s blood which leads one to seeing clearly the power of God which enables man to love one another.
Prayer Focus #2 “Take away the pointing of the finger.” When we point at another person or group to condemn or accuse we always have three pointing back at us.
Pray tonight that each American take personal responsibility for their own life, attitude and actions instead of blaming others. Revival begins with me and we must begin now to sweeten the spirits of men before we sour in self-destruction.
Prayer Focus #3 “Take away speaking wickedness”. Irresponsible speech that incites bad behavior, lies, cursings – God says put it away. First may our prayers take on the attitude of authoritative command binding evil spirits that influence such behavior. Then may we agree in prayer that God’s people in America use their mouth to bless others according to James chapter 3.
