Matthew 5:48 “48 Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.”
“That’s perfect!”  Parents say that of a child’s artwork, we say that of a good cup of coffee or a sandwich.  When we say these words we mean it meets our approval.  In this scripture we feel at times that we are given an unattainable, unrealistic goal.  But in context we find that the lesson Jesus teaches us on how to treat one another is that we seek God’s approval rather than man’s.
Let us pray together this day that the goal of every Christian in America be to receive God’s approval on what we do and say.  Every time we do something or say something may we first ask the question, “Will this cause God to say, ‘That’s perfect?’”
