Matthew 6:2-3 “ Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly, I say to you, they have their reward. But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing.”
In synagogues “churches” we love to give testimony of what God enables us to do for others on a personal level.  We must be careful that we do the right things for the right reason and share with others the blessing of giving to those in need with the goal of inspiring others not bringing attention to ourselves.
Pray today that we put away our trumpets that sound selfish testimony to others and that Christian America learn to collaborate so that Jesus receives the glory not self.  There’s already enough hypocrisy among God’s people, we don’t need to display it in doing good.
