Saturday, January 31, 2015 “Real Reward”

Matthew 6:3-4 “But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly.
Jesus is very serious about our works of kindness being kept quiet.  Our left and right hands join frequently to do simple things in life like slicing bread and tying our shoes.  Jesus says in the times of intimate work or play with close friends, don’t brag about your charitable acts.  We don’t invest in heaven with the expectation of interest from men on earth.  We should count the joy of anonymously blessing others reward enough this side of heaven.  This is the reward God the Father gives to us openly.
Pray in agreement today that Christians do more benevolent acts from a distance – not to be seen of others.  That way we can watch from a distance the joy others receive and our joy can then be full because some didn’t “leak out” due to the thanks to you given by those who receive the blessing.
