Sunday May 10, 2015 “Happy Mother’s Day”

Exodus 2:1-3 “And a man of the house of Levi went and took as wife a daughter of Levi. 2 So the woman conceived and bore a son. And when she saw that he was a beautiful child, she hid him three months. 3 But when she could no longer hide him, she took an ark of bulrushes for him, daubed it with asphalt and pitch, put the child in it, and laid it in the reeds by the river’s bank.”
Today we will take a break from the “Sermon on the Mount”, however we will not take a break from “We are the People” prayer.
As usual we will pray in agreement concerning 3 prayer points for a minimum of 15 minutes between the hours of 6-9 pm (all time zones).
Today we will pray that mothers in America follow in the footsteps if Jochabed, the mother of Moses, the great deliverer of God’s people from the hands of their harsh Egyptian taskmasters.
Prayer Focus #1 Pray that mothers in America be courageous like Jochebed. She took a stand for what was right and risked it all by keeping her child safe in her care and waited on God to show her the next step. She refused to fear the king.
Prayer Focus #2 Pray that moms in America follow Jochabed in resisting the world’s influence on little Moses by teaching him God’s way while he was on her knee.
Prayer Focus #3 Pray that mothers follow Jochabed in releasing their children into the hands of God as she did Moses in the Ark of the bulrushes and the crocodile infested waters of the Nile River. The same river that destroyed the other boy babies – kept the son of a praying mother afloat and on a course to be picked up by the Princess, raised in the palace to be taught and later used by God to deliver His people.
Pray that moms will break free from the fear of releasing their children to fulfil God’s purposes in their generation. Safety is not an option when we must be releasing our children to be salt and light in today’s culture. In John 17:15 Jesus prayed that we would be kept by the Father’s power while we interact with the world.
