Sunday May 24, 2015 “Sinless or Singleness”

Matthew 5:8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”
The pure in heart who see God – are thy sinless or do they possess singleness of heart?  Probably the answer is a little bit of both.  Point is, in both ways we should desire to keep the spiritual window of our soul clear.
Good evening and welcome to our Sunday night edition of “We Are the People,” intercessing prayer for America.  It is asked that you pray in agreement on the 3 prayer focal points for a minimum of 15 minutes between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m.
God bless you for your willingness to join your heart with ours as we believe God to turn this nation around in answer to the prayers of  the  righteous.
Prayer Focus #1  Pray that God’s people in America will repent of sin and areas of life that does not please the Lord Jesus Christ.  This is the “Spiritual Windex” that cleans the windows of spots and dirt that can blur or blind man from seeing God’s activity in the earth.  When we see clearly what God is doing we can join Him in His pursuit of the hearts of men.
Prayer Focus #2  In James 4:8 we are told to “purify your hearts, you double-minded.”  A double-minded person is religiously split in two.  He tries the impossible task of following 2 separate paths at once.  James tells us earlier in this letter that a double-minded person can expect nothing from God.  Knowing this let us pray that we who care about the heart and soul of our nation and its people count the cost of full commitment to Jesus Christ and God’s righteous standards and willingly pay the price.  This kind of living gives us a clear view of God’s goodness which will lead America to repentance.
Prayer Focus #3  “To see the face of someone” according to an ancient middle Eastern idiom meant that one was given an audience with a person of consequence, Revelation 22: 3-4 says, “. . . and His servants shall serve Him (God) and they shall see His face.”
Pray tonight in a prayer of agreement that as believers in America purify their hearts and see the Lord high and lifted up as Isaiah did and that the countenance of  believer’s be changed like what happened to Moses receiving the Commandments on the mountain with God.  May this be a testimony to the watching world that once saw Christian America as religious, now see the glorious church as a people who are respected because like the Early Church they have been with Jesus and they have been transformed by the Holy Spirit who brings us to God and speaks through us to man about the commandments of God that lead us into truth about life issues we face as a nation.
