Thursday June 4, 2015 “Blessed Persecution”

Matthew 5:10-12 “10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.  11 “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. 12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
Blessed persecution?  What?  Jesus said the right persecution can become a blessing.  In 1 Peter 4:12-14 the Apostle said that when we insulted for the Name of Christ, you are blessed because the Spirit of God rests upon you.
As we agree in prayer today – let us understand that it is Jesus being cursed when we are for His namesake.  We must not take such persecution personally or we will miss the blessing that comes with being spoken against.  There is so much anti-Christian and anti-Christ talk today we must keep our hearts clear if our testimony is to lead people to Jesus.
