Sunday July 19, 2015 “Simon, Simon”

Luke 22:31&32 And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.”
Welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We Are the People” where we agree on 3 prayer focus points for America.
It is asked that each partner invest a minimum of 15 minutes in intercession between the hours of 6 and9 pm (all time zones).
Thank you for joining us tonight for prayers of agreement and do invite others to join us as we call upon the Lord for this great land we love.
Prayer Focus #1 “Simon, Simon!” When God repeats something we must take notice. As with Job many hundreds of years before, Satan was after God’s man. The devil’s game plan has not changed. He is after those whom God has chosen to put Satan underfoot.
Tonight let us pray for God’s Generals – men and women whom God has called for extraordinary duty in these last days. There are Pastors, Politicians and many other people involved in prayer ministry and proclamation of truth who are definitely in the cross-hairs of Satan. Righteousness is being attacked on every front from marriage to the Sanctity of Human Life and constitutional rights.
Pray that God will surround those who are “Peters” in this generation with songs of deliverance and His holy angels.
Prayer Focus #2 “Satan has asked for you.” In other versions the Bible reads, “Satan has demanded that he have Peter”. This verse comes just before the Gethsemane trial of faith. Peter almost blew it when he brandished his sword and severed the servant’s ear from his head.
Pray tonight that there will be a powerful move of the Holy Spirit that will help God’s people stand in these evil and challenging days and that we respond according to the word and will of God when sifted and threatened by demonic forces that tempt us to curse God.
Prayer Focus #3 Jesus told Peter, “I have prayed for you.” There are no sweeter words. Jesus interceded for Peter when he was under severe attack by the evil one.
Pray that God help us in these days of testing with a great assurance that Jesus is ever-living to make intercession for us and that we will join our prayers with His for our brothers and sisters whom Satan has “asked for” that he might sift them as wheat. Satan has no legal right to God’s people. Let us stand our ground against Him.
