Monday August 17, 2015 “Opposition”

Zechariah 3:1 “Then he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the Angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to oppose him.”
It’s so easy to think if you were closer to God, that Satan will leave you alone. This verse concerning Joshua, the Book of Job and in other books of the Bible, seem to teach us just the opposite. When we walk near to the Lord, there will be more challenges and opposition to the work of God.
There has been much opposition to the church in recent days. Could this be a sign that Christians are beginning to draw nearer to the Lord? And if that be the reason for the increased static by the enemy, should we not stand tall during these evil days that tempt us to back off when Satan tempts and threatens.
As we continue to use the Book of Zechariah as a prayer guide, let us agree in intercession today for our brothers and sisters in the Lord remain strong in Him knowing that God is for us.
