Sunday August 23, 2015 Weekly Prayer Focus

Zechariah 3:3-4 ““Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the Angel. Then He answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, “Take away the filthy garments from him.” And to him He said, “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We Are the People” prayer of agreement for America.  We are glad you chose to join us once again and encourage you to invite others into this movement of intercession to bring righteousness back to this land we love.
Although there is a daily blog post every day at wearethepeople.me, Sunday evenings are special because we join hearts on 3 prayer focus points from 6-9pm (all time zones) for a minimum of 15 minutes.  May the Lord bless you and your family for your commitment to pray for the USA believing that 2 Chronicles 7:14 can restore this land.
Prayer Focus #1  “Taking away the filthy garments” – pray that all believers allow the Holy Spirit to not only reveal to us that garments are tarnished from time to time and that our response must be to confess our personal and national sins that must be repented of  before healing comes to our land.  When we ignore the filth of the flesh, we choose to remain a land Isaiah described as a land where people of “unclean lips” dwell and we are pleased to dwell there with them.
Prayer Focus #2  “I have removed your sin.”  Wow!  Great news to anyone especially when those words come from God.  Let us pray in agreement tonight that as we draw near to God with repentant hearts that we will realize that we can come boldly to “God’s throne of grace” to receive help in pulling down the strongholds built by spiritual wicked forces.
Prayer Focus #3  “I will clothe you with rich robes.”  Of course this would be the righteousness of God imputed to us because of the blood of Christ shed on the cross for our sins.  Pray that many in America who think they are Christians because of church affiliation, or other reasons will come to know God personally through Jesus Christ and come to know their position as a child of God because of His righteousness in our life by faith and His grace we receive as a gift from God.
