Friday September 4, 2015 “Stones”

Zechariah 3:9 “9 For behold, the stone that I have laid before Joshua: Upon the stone are seven eyes. Behold, I will engrave its inscription,’ Says the LORD of hosts, ‘And I will remove the iniquity of that land in one day.”
In so many ways God uses a stone or stones as an instrument of judgment as with David and Goliath, a stone as a pillow and a pillar (altar), Peter referred to the Body of Christ as “Living Stones” and Jesus is called “the stone that the builders rejected.” This of course refers to Jesus, the Messiah, being rejected by the nation of Israel.
In the days of Zechariah God is commanding His people, “Behold, the stone I have laid.” It is so easy to forget that God is the one who sets a stone where He pleases and do what He wills in building a spiritual house in every generation.
Pray today that the church comprised of Living Stones will understand that they are to be His eyes in this nation and sound the alarm when they see unrighteousness “crowding out” the standards of our Holy God. Also, let us understand that we, having the engraving of God’s word on our heart and mind, we are to control the conversations in the land concerning right and wrong.
