Friday October 23, 2015 “Serving Without Fear”

Zechariah 7:12   12 Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the Lord of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the Lord of hosts.
Great wrath fell upon God’s people for refusing to hear from heaven.  Listen to those New Testament words of warning to the church.  Hebrews 12:25-29 25 See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” 27 Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire.
As Jesus spoke to the “woman at the well” God seeks those who will worship Him “in Spirit and in truth.”  Instead of being afraid of God, He desires for us to have a healthy fear of the Lord.  If truly we desire to see a Heaven-sent revival we must turn from sin and to God.  We will then hear the Lord, make life adjustments to please the Lord building upon what is left and not living a life of lament over things that are lost.
Pray tonight that God will not have to resort to wrath because we, the people of God, have chosen to refuse His words of wisdom, forgiveness, reconciliation and prosperity in our land once again.
