Sunday November 1, 2015 “Young and Old”

Zechariah 8:4-5 “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Old men and old women shall again sit
In the streets of Jerusalem, Each one with his staff in his hand Because of great age.
5 The streets of the city Shall be full of boys and girls Playing in its streets.’
Good evening and welcome to our Sunday Evening edition of “We are the People” intercession for America. It is asked that you join us every Sunday night investing a minimum of 15 minutes of prayer for this land we love. Prayers of agreement are powerful. Jesus said if 2 or more people will agree on earth in prayer it shall be answered by the Father in heaven.
So, between the hours of 6-9 pm (all time zones) let us agree in the Name of Jesus concerning the three prayer points for today based upon the Book of Zechariah Chap 8. On Monday through Saturday we agree upon one point prayer – so get in the prayer habit and follow us daily and ask others to join us in a journey to change the heart and destiny of America.
Prayer Focus #1 Old men and women shall sit in the streets of Jerusalem once again. The elders were both respected and listened to in ancient Israel. There is much wisdom gained throughout the years that is valuable to younger generations. Many times the Hebrew scriptures tell us that God would say things to His people to remind them of both great victories and defeats and how it happened so they could learn from those events.
Pray today that the older will take the time with the younger and that the younger adults and teens will listen to the words of experience from the elders especially in the area of the course of our nation as Election Day draws near.
Prayer Focus #2 The verse says that the men and women had a staff in their hand. A staff is for support to rise up and be steady when walking. Pray that the staff of authority and power in the older generation be used to lift America up and move in new directions – waking in faith, truth and love. These “old” paths and landmarks must be reset in our land.
Prayer Focus #3 The streets shall be filled with children playing. In most cities of America the practice of children learning community, teamwork, the thrill of winning, the lessons of losing graciously, playing outdoors is all but lost. Children spend so much time being entertained by a screen and they miss the joy of social interaction. Pray today that parents see the need for healthy outdoor activities for their children and work with other parents to provide times and places for these kind of activities.
