Monday December 7, 2015 “Rejoice and Shout”

Zechariah 9:9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion!
Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you;
He is just and having salvation, Lowly and riding on a donkey,
A colt, the foal of a donkey.
“Rejoice and Shout” these words of prophecy were fulfilled when Jesus entered Jerusalem triumphantly on what we call Palm Sunday. But this is the command to God’s people of all generations. Miriam led Israel in the song of joy and triumphant celebration when the Red Sea was parted and then the waters returned to take the wheels off of Pharaoh’s chariots and the horse and rider were thrown into the sea. The Psalmist commands “Enter His gates with thanksgiving and praise”. Joshua had the people shout before the Jericho walls came down.
The rejoicing and shouting is to come before the victory as an act of faith, believing that God will fight for us and win the battles on our behalf. In 2Chronicles Chapter 20, King Jehosophat had singers lift their voice in praise when things looked bad for Judah. When they rejoiced and praised the Lord three of their worst enemies were destroyed. They killed one another and God’s people got much spoils from their enemies.
Today let the Spirit of God speak to your heart about 3 things our nation faces that needs to be brought under God’s authority and give thanks and praise to God for the victory yet to be revealed.
