Sunday February 14, 2016 Weekly Prayer Focus

Welcome to the Sunday night edition of “We Are the People” prayer for America. Today being Valentine’s Day the subject of love is on our hearts and minds. We will take a break today from our prayer guide using the Book of Zechariah as a point of focus.
Love is an interesting subject and we will use a couple of truths found in God’s word as a guide tonight. On Sunday evenings we pray in agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 pm focusing on three points for a minimum of 15 minutes. God bless you for your commitment to the Lord and seeing His glory return to this one Nation under God. Please invite others to join us.
Prayer Focus #1 Revelation 2:4 The Church of Ephesus had left their first love and were in danger of losing their light to illuminate the world around them to the good, loving Father we have.
Pray tonight that individuals and churches turn back to God in a love relationship He desires to have with us. From the beginning of creation God called out to a straying Adam, “Where are you?” This was God’s way of saying, “I love you – do you love me?”
Pray that Christian America sees the truth that what God desires more than good works, abhorring evil, and perseverance is our love. Then we will obey the Lord because of our love for Him. That is what the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil was about in Genesis.
Prayer Focus #2 Mark 12:30-31 Love the Lord God Almighty. That is the first and greatest commandment. Before you do anything else – do this. Pray that God’s people in America show their love for God by their commitment to pray, worship and witness. This will make Jesus famous in the land and bring us back to our God-fearing roots based upon the word of God.
Prayer Focus #3 Mark 12:31 Loving our neighbor means to “love people to life” through our care and concern for others. Let our prayers of agreement tonight be that we are willing to invest time in others’ lives and show the love of Christ to the least of these – our brothers and neighbors.
Loving people cost Jesus His earthly life. Loving people will cost us time and resources. Oh, but one soul Jesus teaches is worth the whole world. So love those around you and around the world in ways that demonstrate the truth “it is more blessed to give than to receive.”
