Monday February 15, 2016 “The Shepherd’s Slaughterhouse”

Zechariah 11:4-5 “Thus says the Lord my God, “Feed the flock for slaughter, whose owners slaughter them and feel no guilt; those who sell them say, ‘Blessed be the Lord, for I am rich’; and their shepherds do not pity them.”
We are back to following Zechariah Chapter 4 as a prayer guide this week after taking a break for Valentine’s Day and our focus on love yesterday.
Feeding the flock for slaughter and the owners feel no guilt.  The unsuspecting sheep feel as though they are being blessed.  They are fed well.  They feel full and in need of nothing but they are being set up for destruction.
Easy access to funds – credit cards, home loans, etc.  Low to no down payment and low interest rates create the environment.  Promises from “wanna be” shepherds – politicians promise much to would be voters (especially the young) but there is no room in budgets to support such spending.  Yes, it all sounds good to the unsuspecting sheep, but reality sinks in 4 or 8 years later.  Pray that that people of God have their hearts and eyes open to the truth especially in times like this.  We must know truth and not give in to believing fables in this critical election year.  As the Apostle Paul wrote, “Prove all things.”
