Sunday February 21, 2016 “Beauty and Bonds”

Zechariah 11:7 “So I fed the flock for slaughter, in particular the poor of the flock. I took for myself two staffs: the one I called Beauty, and the other I called Bonds;and I fed the flock.”
Good evening and welcome to our Sunday nite edition of “We Are The People” prayer for America It is asked that you will invest a minimum of 15 minutes in intercession for our nation using the following three prayer focus points as a guide
We have been using the Book of Zechariah as a guide. We extend to you an invitation to join us every day on WATP.
Prayer Focus #1 “I fed the flock for slaughter in particular the poor.” The poor and uneducated are always the most vulnerable. Pray that there be voices raised up in America that will simplify the issues we face for this very important segment of our society. Pray to the end that this will result in informed voters in the Primary and General elections this Fall.
Prayer Focus #2 “I took two staffs.” The prophet took two walking sticks or staffs. A staff is used to navigate difficult terrain. Israel was definitely navigating difficult times in the days of Zechariah.
Pray that God’s people will know the mind of the Lord as to what supports are necessary and what are unnecessary in America today and get on the right side of issues. This will allow the church to lead the way for the nation to return to right paths with limited artificial supports that many times enslave instead of liberating people.
Prayer Focus #3 The prophet fed the flock according to the word of the Lord recorded in v4. He did this using beauty and bonds which could be grace and law or as Jesus said of His own ministry, He came with grace and truth.
Pray tonight that all ministers of the Gospel in America will feed the flock with a balance like Jesus and Zechariah did. We will then hear the voice of the sheep declare “Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.”
