Sunday June 26, 2016 “America Turned Right-Side Up”

Acts 4:24, 31, 33
“So when they heard that, they raised their voice to God with one accord and said: “Lord, You are God, who made heaven and earth and the sea, and all that is in them,
And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.
And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday evening edition of “We Are The People”  prayer for America. Every Sunday from 6-9 pm (all time zones) we bring our hearts and prayers together in intercession.  It is asked that you invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayer using the 3 focus points listed below.
God bless you for your heart for God and our nation.  Do invite others with a kindred spirit to join us in a pursuit for God to turn our nation back to His heart for righteousness in the land.
Prayer Focus #1  Persecution had begun against the early church. The response: the church lifted their voices to God in one accord or in unity.  There are so many different ideas about what is right and good and holy today. Let us pray tonight that God’s people in America have an understanding of right and wrong so that our prayers might be in agreement and that we might “life our voices to God” so that we can see God’s power revealed in our day to turn the heart of America back to Biblical truth as a way of life.
Prayer Focus #2 The result of prayer was God shook things up and poured out His power upon the church.  The church needs to be shaken out of complacency and timidness in our day.
Let us pray in agreement this night that we see the shaking that comes as a wake-up call and respond to it by seeking the Lord for a fresh infilling of His Holy Spirit that enables us to speak the truth boldly.
Prayer Focus #3  Great power and great grace was the result of the unity and prayer that the church engaged in.
May we join our hearts in prayer today that the church will be moved in great power that the watching world cannot deny.  Acts 17:6 tells us that the early church turned the world upside down. Let’s be determined to turn America right side up again.  The “Great Power” in the Greek means mega.  Expect great things!
