Sunday July 17, 2016 “Reconciliation”

2  Corinthians 5:18&19    18 “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We Are The People” Intercessory Prayer for America. We believe that prayer is the most important part in seeing change in any situation.  There are three prayer focus points listed below.  It is asked that you invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement using the three points as a guide.
Eternity alone will reveal what God will do in response to our prayers.
Invite others to join us in our commitment to see America turn back to God and become a greater influence in the world for good in the days ahead.
Prayer Focus #1  Webster defines intercession as “to act between parties with a view to reconcile those who differ.”     We are called to bring people to God and His righteousness through salvation.  Biblical reconciliation is not compromise to find common ground but to persuade men to receive Jesus as Savior on God’s terms. Pray that God’s people practice Biblical reconciliation in prayerful and practical reconciliation.
Prayer Focus #2  Believers have been given the word of reconciliation. Pray that God’s people have a desire to study God’s Word and be ready to answer people’s questions about God and salvation so they might be reconciled to the Lord through the power of the cross and Christ’s resurrection.
Prayer Focus #3  There is much polarization in America today and much talk of reconciliation. Pray that God’s people will always remember to connect people first vertically with God and then horizontally with their fellow man.
Horizontal reconciliation without vertical will result in a “tower of Babel” collapse.  Remember, the Holy Spirit cries out through us, “Be reconciled to God.”  2 Corinthians 5:20.  This is the only permanent cure for people being separated by prejudice and misunderstanding.

Please pray for the families of the victims and healing for those injured in the terror attack in Nice, France.  Hold up our brothers’ and sisters’ arms in their time of suffering.
