Sunday August 21, 2016 “Look Up or Look Out!”

Isaiah 8:22  “Then they will look to the earth, and see trouble and darkness, gloom of anguish; and they will be driven into darkness.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America. It is asked that you will invest a minimum of 15 minutes in intercession for the land we love using the 3 prayer focus points listed below.  It is asked that you pray between the hours of 6 and 9 pm (all time zones) for this is a prayer movement based upon prayers of agreement ascending to the throne of God.
Where our eyes are focused and how we see things is so important.
Luke 11:34  “ The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore, when your eye is good, your whole body also is full of light. But when your eye is bad, your body also is full of darkness.”
Prayer Focus #1  Pray that Christian America focus on things above and not on the earthly. The Apostle Paul wrote, “Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.”  Col 3:2   Isaiah speaks of people who simply look at the world and not to God. This brings with it frustration for there are no permanent answers found in the wisdom of man.  Our only hope is in a breakthrough by the power of God.
Prayer Focus #2  The Prophet said the only thing the people could see was trouble, darkness, gloom of anguish when they looked at the world around them.
It is true that there is much in this world that can discourage and even demoralize the believer’s heart.
Pray in agreement tonight that Christians will not immerse themselves in information about the evil and darkness of this present age.  Ask God to move in ways that believers be drawn to Him and His righteousness in this hour we live in. The more we are in His presence the more people who walk in darkness will see His glory in us.
Prayer Focus #3  Those who fix their gaze on earthly things will be driven into the darkness Isaiah wrote.  We must guard our hearts lest we become part of the problem instead of us being the solution. The Bible teaches our good should not be spoken of as evil.
Pray tonight that we keep our hearts pure before God so we might see things in the right light and be able to lead others out of the confusion and chaos we have in America today.
