John 12:35 Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.
Welcome to the Sunday Evening Edition of We Are The People prayer for America. It is asked that each partner invest a minimum of 15 minutes in intercession using the 3 focus points listed below. May God bless you for your love for our nation and your time invested tonight in prayer.
“While you have the light” – this speaks to the fact that there are seasons of light to walk in. We all know the difficulty of walking in the dark. Jesus encourages us to walk in the light.
Focus #1 Pray that we will make great progress taking God’s Word to our cities while we enjoy the light of God’s presence with us. Jesus said, there will be a time when darkness will prevent us from doing His work. Let us walk (make progress) before we enter the time of darkness.
Focus #2 Jesus said that darkness can overtake a person. That means to be possessed by the darkness.
Pray that the darkness of sin be dispelled by the sight of God’s love that will keep America free from being a pawn of Satan and enslaved to sin by the darkness of fear and misunderstanding among our people.
Focus #3 When we don’t know where we are going, we are lost. Pray that America will walk circumspectly into the unsure future that we face due to the unrest we have experienced in our cities because of divisive attitudes. We must restore a spirit of unity to move with confidence into the difficult days we face because of the economic and social policies that have placed a wedge between people groups in recent years. United we shall stand and have confidence in our government or divided we shall fall. Do what you can to encourage unity founded in Christ Jesus our Lord.
