Sunday, January 22, 2017 “Quite a Week”

Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.
Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors who choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer this night.  If you know others who would like to join us, please invite them to visit us at We Are The  Tonight we will pray for our newly sworn-in President, Donald Trump.  Let us join our hearts in intercession tonight.
1 Kings 3:5 then vs 8-14  In Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.  And thy servant is in the midst of thy people which thou hast chosen, a great people, that cannot be numbered nor counted for multitude.  Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? 10 And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. 11 And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; 12 Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. 13 And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honor: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.  14 And if thou wilt walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as thy father David did walk, then I will lengthen thy days.
Prayer Focus #1  Prior to this Heavenly visitation, Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings to God.  Our newly installed President obviously has sacrificed much to take time and focus off of business to be elected by the American public to become the 45th President of the United States.  PRAY tonight that President Trump, Vice President Pence and others who will be a part of the Cabinet and other appointees will hear the voice of God speaking to them every day asking a similar question, “What shall I give you?”  Our Heavenly Father knows what we have need of but He requires us to have a humble heart and ask for our needs.  There are and will be many in the first hundred days and beyond.
Prayer Focus #2  In v.8 Solomon understood the greatness of the task and the greatness of the people he was called to lead.  Let us join in prayer and ask the Lord to place upon our new leader’s hearts the awesome responsibilities of their office.  Solomon said, “I am in the midst of your people.”  PRAY that those who lead will never lose touch with the voting citizens who made it possible for them to be in such responsible positions.
Prayer Focus #3  v.9  Solomon asked God for an understanding heart.  He could have asked for many things but knowing his lack of experience Solomon asked for understanding as to how to judge the ways of man and know what is good and what is evil.  This would guide his public policy under the Word and Will of God.  PRAY tonight that our new President and those around him will seek the heart of God for understanding in all areas of life not just economics and military, etc.  The morality or lack of it will bring blessing or curse.  PRAY that they all will keep first things first.
This week we will continue to look at these early days of Solomon’s reign and use it for prayer guides.  Join us daily at We Are The
