Sunday March 26, 2017 Weekly Prayer Focus

1 Kings 6:1, 11-13 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel had come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month of Ziv, which is the second month, that he began to build the house of the Lord.  11 Then the word of the Lord came to Solomon, saying: 12 “Concerning this temple which you are building, if you walk in My statutes, execute My judgments, keep all My commandments, and walk in them, then I will perform My word with you, which I spoke to your father David.13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake My people Israel.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.
Every Sunday we bring  together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9pm using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer this night.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
The right time came for Israel to build a temple for God.  They had been freed from Egyptian slavery for over 400 years after 400 years of bondage.
In the last part of the 20th Century we saw glimmers of hope and revival from the Charismatic Renewal to Christian leaders joining together to influence America to live righteously and responsibly before God.
The verses that follow the mandate of the first verse speak of much detail concerning the building of the temple.  Then in verses 11-13 God tells King Solomon that it is more than just building a temple, it is the condition of the heart of the people.
Prayer Focus #1:  Pray that all Americans will see that many of the systems we have allowed to evolve in America are failing.  The reason for this is the culture has exalted man and his ways, not God’s ways that will not fail.  Pray that there will be a grassroots movement to build the church and the center once again upon Jesus Christ, our firm foundation in America.
Prayer Focus #2: There are so many promises in God’s word concerning the blessings of obedience.  All America needs today can be found in those promises.  In verse 12 God says, “Obey those things I command and the blessings will be yours.”  Pray today that God’s people will lead the way in righteous living and that leaders in America will stand up courageously to defend what they know is true.
Prayer Focus #3:  Verse 13 tells us that if we become an obedient people, His presence will be with us and He shall not forsake us.  Pray for our leaders, neighbors, and friends – that they come to know Jesus as Lord and make Him Lord of their lives through obedience to His commands.
