Sunday June 4, 2017 “The Father’s Promise”

1 Kings 8:24  “You have kept what You promised Your servant David my father; You have both spoken with Your mouth and fulfilled it with Your hand, as it is this day.”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer this night.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Today is Pentecost on the church calendar. The day when the Holy Spirit – the promise of the Father was poured out upon the church of Jesus Christ.  God had kept His promise that was prophesied many years before through Joel and Isaiah.  God is the ultimate promise keeper.
In our scripture text Solomon said His father, King David, received the promise from God.  A temple was built and through the Ark of the Covenant, God dwelt in the temple.
Prayer Focus #1  Pray that on this Day of Pentecost that believers in America will be open to receive the Promise of the Father which is the Holy Spirit.  Jesus said that if we ask, we will receive. The hope of our nation is found in America having Spirit-filled believers in every city who will turn their world upside down as it happened in the Book of Acts, one city at a time.
Prayer Focus #2  When God speaks – it is a game changer. On the day of Pentecost God spoke through other tongues to those gathered in the streets of Jerusalem.  Three thousand people became believers and were filled with the Holy Spirit.      Pray that believers all across America will speak Holy Spirit inspired words that will convince many to receive salvation and the Holy Spirit (the Father’s Promise) everyone needs.
Prayer Focus #3  God’s hand is evident in the Book of Acts. There were many miracles performed by believers.  Let us pray today that there will be signs and wonders by the hand of the church and the signs of the miraculous will be evident to a watching world.  Jesus said that His followers would perform greater works than He did on the earth.  Let us go into our world as witnesses to God’s love and power that demonstrate the goodness of God.
