Sunday August 13, 2017 “A Costly Peace and Dedication”

1 Kings 8:63 63 And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered to the Lord, twenty-two thousand bulls and one hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in Prayer.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us. Solomon understood that peace with God was costly. To enjoy peace it costs a person and a nation much in the way of finances. Tonight we will pray accordingly in agreement with God’s pattern set forth in this verse of scripture.
Prayer Focus #1: Pray that our president, congress and military understand that peace comes at great price in many ways and that peace with God must be priority one. Repentance and humility open the door to peace with God. May our leaders give us a good example to follow.
Prayer Focus #2: 22,000 bulls and 120,000 sheep were valuable property even in Biblical days. Remember that in Luke 15 there is the story about a man who had 100 sheep and lost one that sent him on a wilderness journey to bring the one lost sheep home. Let us pray that our leaders in Washington are willing to spend what it takes to keep America safe and our defenders cared for.
Prayer Focus #3: The house of God was dedicated after the sacrifices were offered. Let us pray that as a nation we will do those things that make for peace in our individual lives and then may we work together to make the church in America once again the place of strength and guidance dedicated to bringing God praise and glory.
