Sunday October 29, 2017 “The Almug Wood”

1 Kings 10:12  And the king made steps of the almug wood for the house of the Lord and for the king’s house, also harps and stringed instruments for singers. There never again came such almug wood, nor has the like been seen to this day.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring  together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 pm using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer this night.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Yesterday we prayed about the imports of wood and gold from Ophir and how imported goods can be used to build and beautify a land.
Tonight let us focus our prayers on Solomon’s use of the almug wood sent from Ophir and how that can relate to America today.
Focus #1  Solomon made steps to the House of the Lord with the wood. Pray that our President and other leaders in Washington realize the benefit of faith-based citizens in America.  There is much needed services and moral guidance given to many people in churches across our land. Pray that favorable tax policies will be maintained.
Focus #2  The Almug wood was also used for steps in the king’s house. Pray that the same material used to build steps in the Temple be used in the White House, the Capitol building and the Supreme Court. The material is faith, hope and love. These are the steps that lead to God’s glory filling the land.
Focus #3  Stringed instruments were made with the Almug wood.  These instruments make a joyful sound. Pray that true joy be established in America rooted in knowing Christ as our Savior and Lord.  Nehemiah 8:10 tells us that kind of joy produces strength. We need moral strength and fortitude to face this ever-changing 21st century.
Have a blessed week!
