Sunday November 26, 2017 “Chariots of War”

1 Kings 10:26   And Solomon gathered chariots and horsemen; he had one thousand four hundred chariots and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring  together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 pm using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer this night.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Chariots were used in warfare. Solomon gathered both the weapons and the operators to discourage enemies from attacking Israel. Tonight we will join our hearts in intercession concerning our 21st century Chariots.
Prayer Focus #1 Solomon was a wise man. We had a president in the later years of America who followed Solomon’s footsteps. His famous statement, “Peace through strength” must be our guiding light in this season of world-wide unrest. Pray that President Trump and Congress will value a strong defense and fund our military forces at home and abroad. This is no time for ‘status quo” thinking. Jesus taught us to always be vigilant and ready. He also told Peter
“Here’s a sword, take it to the garden.”  A strong deterrent is the best defense.
Prayer Focus #2  Israel had “chariot cities”.  These would be today’s military bases across America. Let us pray that it will always be “best strategy” used in where we have our armed forces stationed in America and around the world. Financial expediency must never “trump” the military necessity of having troops placed and ready to defend our borders.
Prayer Focus #3  We all remember 2001 one September day when it seems we were unable to defend against enemy attack near our Capitol like what happened at the Pentagon. Pray today that as Solomon placed chariots and horsemen in Jerusalem we will always be ready and able to defend this city that is home to our national leaders.
