Friday December 22, 2017 “Tearing Away the Kingdom”

1 Kings 11:11 11 Therefore the Lord said to Solomon, “Because you have done this, and have not kept My covenant and My statutes, which I have commanded you, I will surely tear the kingdom away from you and give it to your servant.
Verses 9 and 10 tells us that the Lord was angry at Solomon because his heart turned to other gods. It is difficult to believe that Solomon turned to other gods after the great display of God’s glory in the temple at the dedication. Because of this, God said He would tear the kingdom away from the line of King David through Solomon.
Pray that our leaders will realize that God only tolerates the detestable sin of idolatry so long and then judgement comes.
David, the man after God’s own heart, had a great future and so did his sons but he fell under the hand of judgement and this can happen in America even though we have had many godly leaders in our past. Let us keep our hearts focused on the one true and holy God of Israel.
