Sunday January 21, 2018 “Is the Best Always Best”

1 Kings 11:28 28 The man Jeroboam was a mighty man of valor; and Solomon, seeing that the young man was industrious, made him the officer over all the labor force of the house of Joseph.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring  together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 pm using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer this night.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Jeroboam was a man of great ability, valiant in battle and very industrious.  He seemed to be the best “pick” to be an advisor and oversee.  But… as we will see in the coming days Jeroboam became Solomon’s worse nightmare.
Prayer Focus #1:  As when Samuel was sent to find a king in Jesse’s house and discovered it wasn’t the oldest or strongest – pray that our leaders in Washington and state government will find a David who was, “a Man after God’s own heart.”
Prayer Focus #2:  Jeroboam was valiantly courageous but his courage later emboldened him to rebel against the king.  Pray that our president will seek out appointees who are not necessarily courageous but individuals who have confidence in God.
Prayer Focus #3:  Jeroboam was industrious – He looks for ways to be involved but his zeal took him further in his aspirations than what was right.
Pray that President Trump will have wisdom in keeping a watchful eye over those who have a tendency to be overambitious but not necessarily loyal.
