Sunday February 4, 2018 “I Will Take and Make You”

1 Kings 11:37 37 So I will take you, and you shall reign over all your heart desires, and you shall be king over Israel.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
God is speaking to Jeroboam. He says, “I will take you.” When choosing Israel’s first king God found Saul, humbly in “the stuff” and made him king. God then chose David, the youngest son of Jesse to be the second king in Israel. This third pick of Jeroboam is a little unorthodox but God is God and He puts down one and raises up another at His discretion.
Prayer Focus #1: “I will take you,” said the Lord. When God takes a person, He makes the person into who they need to be for the calling. Pray that our president and other leaders will realize they are but clay fashioned for the position by the hand of God and must remain pliable in His hand to fulfill their calling to lead America and make it respected among the nations once again.
Prayer Focus #2: Although we do not have a monarch in America (although some presidents have thought they were one) our president must understand all of his rights and powers to be successful. God told Jeroboam that He would make Him king over Israel. Pray that President Trump will realize fully that he is where he is because of divine appointment and that he must know his authority and responsibilities well to please the one who has called him to be the POTUS.
Prayer Focus #3: The Lord told Jeroboam that he would reign over all his heart’s desires. Pray that President Trump’s desires will be good and in line with the will of God. Trump is a natural born leader but that natural gifting must be sanctified and under the Holy Spirit’s guidance to produce good fruit.
