Sunday March 11, 2018 “Sent but Stoned”

1 Kings 12:18 18 Then King Rehoboam sent Adoram, who was in charge of the revenue; but all Israel stoned him with stones, and he died. Therefore King Rehoboam mounted his chariot in haste to flee to Jerusalem.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 pm using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
A while back we prayed that America would not follow in the footsteps of leaders who place heavy burdens on their people.  Good government liberates and lightens burdens so people can prosper.
Prayer Focus #1: King Rehoboam sent “the tax man” to exact money from the people. This, along with restrictive policies in America, have weighed down our people and depressed our economy for many years. Pray that our leaders will be open-minded to see that America prospers and reduces debt when taxes are not so burdensome and “the tax man” stays at home.
Prayer Focus #2: The “tax man” Adoram was stoned.  Pray that politicians who refuse to cut spending will be voted out of office so that we can begin to practice fiscal restraint and begin to reduce our mountains of state and federal debt.
Prayer Focus #3: The pursuit of government after the currency of the people resulted in a king on the run back to the Capital City of Israel. Pray today that our government leaders will not be in pursuit of the public’s hard-working dollars. Also pray that leaders will listen to their supporters before they are “cut off” like Adoram or just listen to people in their seat of government as Rehoboam did.
