Sunday April 8, 2018 “Heed the Signs”

1 Kings 13:3-4  And he gave a sign the same day, saying, “This is the sign which the Lord has spoken: Surely the altar shall split apart, and the ashes on it shall be poured out.”  So it came to pass when King Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, who cried out against the altar in Bethel, that he stretched out his hand from the altar, saying, “Arrest him!” Then his hand, which he stretched out toward him, withered, so that he could not pull it back to himself.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring  together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 pm using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
God said that He would confirm His word with signs and wonders.  Surely this would be a sign to God’s people in 1 Kings 13.  There are times when men reject the words of the godly.
Prayer Focus #1: This sign will be nothing less than a sign from God.  Pray that when men of God speak that our leaders will listen and not ignore the sanctity of human life.
Prayer Focus #2: The king heard what the man of God said.  Pray that our men and women who are leaders in America will have ears to hear men of God who prophesy troublesome things because America has disregarded words from heaven.  Our leader must be open to hear both words of hope and a future and words of warning.  Pray that our  leaders will listen to the word of God concerning a nation God can bless, and one He can curse or withhold blessings due to man’s rejection of truth in America.
Prayer Focus #3: King Jeroboam attempted to do harm to God’s anointed.  Because of this the King’s hand shriveled up.  Pray that every attempt by leadership in America to harm men and women sent from heaven will fail.  Touch not God’s anointed and do His prophets no harm.
