Sunday, May 20, 2018 “Seeking Solutions”

1 Kings 14:2-4 2 And Jeroboam said to his wife, “Please arise, and disguise yourself, that they may not recognize you as the wife of Jeroboam, and go to Shiloh. Indeed, Ahijah the prophet is there, who told me that I would be king over this people. 3 Also take with you ten loaves, some cakes, and a jar of honey, and go to him; he will tell you what will become of the child.” 4 And Jeroboam’s wife did so; she arose and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see, for his eyes were glazed by reason of his age.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 pm using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer and invite others to join us.
This past week we have looked extensively at verses 1 and 2. Tonight we will focus on verses 2-4.
Jeroboam’s son was sick and he sent his wife to the prophet Ahijah in Shiloh to possibly find an answer to their family dilemma.
In verse 3 we find Jeroboam sent his wife with gifts (which could have been bribes). Also in verse 3 it is almost like an entitlement- the prophet will tell you. Then verse 4 Jeroboam’s wife went as she was told and her deceptive little way but the profit was unable to “see” the answer her husband wanted.
Please pray:
Prayer Focus #1: That as a people we would put away bribery as a tool for blessings.
Prayer Focus #2: That as a nation we will put away this sense of entitlement to receive blessings.
Prayer Focus #3: Pray that men and women of God will not be blind to truth and seek truth about culture and international relationships that will bring blessing back to our Lord when we obey and proclaim truth with our eyes wide open.
