Sunday June 17, 2018 “Rise Up Men of God”

1 Kings 14:21  And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty-one years old when he became king. He reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put His name there. His mother’s name was Naamah, an Ammonitess.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 pm using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Today is Father’s Day and our scripture this evening tells us about Solomon and his son Rehoboam. Solomon with his many wives was drawn away into idolatry. Rehoboam, we will discover in coming days, was a man who failed to defend Jerusalem and reduced the value of the treasures of the house of the Lord.
Prayer Focus #1 Pray that fathers will be good role models to their children in their commitment to God and righteousness in the land.
Prayer Focus #2 Pray that men in the church of Jesus Christ will defend the faith against those who would attack the truth of God’s word as the final authority in words and action.
Prayer Focus #3 Rehoboam reigned in Jerusalem for 17 years. Pray that America’s leaders will realize that they are governing from a city that has great roots like Rehoboam did in Jerusalem. Jerusalem was chosen by God as Israel’s capitol city and Washington, D.C. has been chosen as ours. Pray that our leaders will be aware of the awesome responsibility they have in keeping D.C. a safe place from Satanic attack and his attempt at derailing the great heritage of our nation’s capital through political correctness.
