Sunday, July 15, 2018 “Purge America from Idols”

1 Kings 15:13 Also he removed Maachah his grandmother from being queen mother, because she had made an obscene image of Asherah. And Asa cut down her obscene image and burned it by the Brook Kidron.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minute in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m. using the three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Asa’s grandmother was wicked like Jezebel in her day. She brought obscenity to the land, but God raised up a grandson to counter Satan’s work. Let us pray and believe for a great move of God in America today because of righteous ancestors.
Prayer Focus #1 Many times people lower the standards of morality in a culture because of their ignorance of God’s word. Pray tonight that we will have leaders in Washington who will seek the truth of God and how it can be translated into Godly morality in the 21st century. We must raise the bar, or we will enslave a generation to Satan’s lies.
Prayer Focus #2 Asa had the image cut down. As Gideon cast down his father’s idols, pray that there will be an understanding among God’s people of what needs to be purged from society. There must be cleansing before there is restoring in America. Pray that the eyes of the believer be opened.
Prayer Focus #3 Asa has the idol or “obscene image” burned by the Brook Kidron. This was a place near to Jerusalem. Outside Jerusalem is where Jesus was crucified. Pray today that we as Christians in America will see that just outside our walls of salvation, which are our Constitution and Bill of Rights built upon the Word of God, there are idols that must be burned out of American life through the power of the Cross.
Pray that there will be a quick approval of Supreme Court justice nominee.
