Sunday, July 29, 2018 “A Continuing Work of God”

1 Kings 15:23-24 23 The rest of all the acts of Asa, all his might, all that he did, and the cities which he built, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah? But in the time of his old age he was diseased in his feet. 24 So Asa rested with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the City of David his father. Then Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his place.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America. Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minimum in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 p.m. using three focus points listed below as a guide. May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight. We encourage you to join us in prayer and invite others to join us.
There is much record in the Hebrew scripture about kings who reigned over Israel and Judah. Unfortunately, many of those kings were not so good people and their sons were even worse. We have read in recent days that Asa; King of Judah was a much better person than his father Abijam. Jehoshaphat, son of Asa, ruled in Judah after his father. Jehoshaphat did great things—even in times of adversity. It seemed that God’s people were making progress in how to walk with God and overcome enemies through spiritual warfare.
Let us include in our time of intercession for America tonight the following three prayer focus points:
Prayer Focus #1: Pray that there will be points of agreement in Washington that will facilitate America being strong and doing great things in the earth through righteousness and truth.
Prayer Focus #2: Pray that as Asa built cities in Judah, we will see new cities built and old ones rebuilt with the prosperity produced by wise financial policies domestically and internationally.
Prayer Focus #3: Let us agree in prayer tonight that God will raise up men and women to continue the good work in America. Asa brought blessing to Judah and Jehoshaphat came afterward to continue the expansion of the Kingdom of God among his people. Pray that we will have experience here in America.
