Monday, December 3, 2018 “Long Prayers—No Answer”
1 Kings 18:26 So they took the bull which was given them, and they prepared it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even till noon, saying, “O Baal, hear us!” But there was no voice; no one answered. Then they leaped about the altar which they had made
“They called on Baal to answer from morning until noon,” yet there was no answer. Six hours came and went. Their prayers had the correct elements but there was no God to answer because Baal was not God. There is only one true God and Jehovah is His name.
In these days of the New Testament we pray to the Father “Jehovah” God through Jesus Christ the Son. Pray that when Christians are praying publicly, they will pray in Jesus’ name. This clearly speaks to the world around us that there is but one God and one way to Him through Jesus Christ His only begotten Son.
