Sunday, December 23, 2018 “Let It Be Known”

1 Kings 18:36 And it came to pass, at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near and said, “Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel, let it be known this day that You are God in Israel and I am Your servant, and that I have done all these things at Your word.
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 pm using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
Elijah had set up an impossible situation—saturating the sacrifice with water. This is not unlike God’s Christmas story that didn’t make sense to the human mind but became a reality because God was in it.
Prayer Focus #1 “Let it be known this day that you are God.” Pray tonight that Jesus will be known by many in America this Christmas as more than the “Babe in the manger.” He is the Savior and the Lord of all and He was born of the Virgin Mary.
Prayer Focus #2 Elijah wanted people to know he was God’s servant. Pray that all believers in America will be set apart in society because we can celebrate a little different than people that know not God. Let us reveal that we are your servants by talking about Jesus not only as the babe in a manger, but as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
Prayer Focus #3 Elijah wanted everyone to know that what he did was in obedience to God’s word. Mary and Joseph did all that God told them and that made the story, God’s story, believable because God is able to make the impossible possible. Pray that God’s people in America will testify of God’s amazing grace revealed in their lives because like Mary they say to God, “Let it be done to me according to your word.”
