Sunday, February 17, 2019 “The Power of the Mantle”

1 Kings 19:19-20 So he departed from there, and found Elisha the son of Shaphat, who was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen before him, and he was with the twelfth. Then Elijah passed by him and threw his mantle on him. 20 And he left the oxen and ran after Elijah, and said, “Please let me kiss my father and my mother, and then I will follow you.” And he said to him, “Go back again, for what have I done to you?”
Good evening and welcome to the Sunday Night Edition of “We are the People” prayer for America.  Every Sunday we bring together the hearts of intercessors that choose to invest a minimum of 15 minutes in prayers of agreement between the hours of 6 and 9 pm using the three focus points listed below as a guide.  May God bless you for your concern for America’s future expressed in prayer tonight.  We encourage you to join us in prayer daily and invite others to join us.
The mantle was a type of the Holy Spirit upon the prophet that was on Elijah and was passed to Elisha.
Prayer Focus #1 Pray that there will be a move of God in America once again where Christians will be open to receive the Baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Prayer Focus #2 Elisha knew the price he must pay to follow God’s will and purposes in the earth. He left the oxen. Pray that God’s people in America will drop some things in their busy schedule to take hold of God’s opportunities. We want spiritual realities to become realities in the land we love.
Prayer Focus #3: Remember Jesus said, “you must leave mother, brother and sister and follow me.” He also said, “Those who listen to my Word and do it are my family.” Pray that more people in America will grasp this concept and understand the price of full Gospel ministry and pay the price to flesh it out.
